Terrific to see a solitary David back for more patiently waiting Sunday for the trio of Jamie, Rick, and JK. We had good sun and good cold waters, Terry and Mick in good form, we all left with a smile (and some more colour from David on Itmar's training which sounds completely hairy and cool and very hard.) you fairies with boots and gloves have nothing on this kid made of nails !!!!!

Yesterday was the coldest Easter on record. A smaller crowd of 6 enjoyed an overcast but calm morning today. Pix uploaded on today's swim. (I uploaded them with the aid of a teenager - all by myself.) G

The Easter Weekend Madness continues. Today was the day when The Navy Seal convinced his father to take the 3C plunge (so, even if you didn't gorge on candy, today was a "Double Chinn" Day regardless). And then The Swimmer convinced houseguest Christian to swim too (The Swimmer went in three times this morning – once with the group, one Paradox Plunge, and a further swim with Christian). A photo of today's winners can be found in "Today's Swim" Folder (picture taken by the Ice Man, w...

The Time Machine and I were the only Ladies to muster on the top of a chilly Parliament Hill at 0900 this morning. During our steady-yet-laconic shuffle to the ponds, we talked about Al Alvarez's book "Pondlife" and how we've come to look at the ponds differenlty since reading it. Upon our arrival (some 20 minutes after the start of our descent), we noticed Chris Rucco pitching up to the ponds with his bugle. Upon entering, there were a bunch people all dressed up in civilian garb (ie, no...

sorry to miss this morning, with newbie Ken Ginsburg, who actually pops up as Dr. Ken Ginsburg yesterday educating our parents at ASL about raising young kids! Great to see such esteemed professors coming to our Pond, and reminding ourselves that "the EGLST in never shy about throwing cold water on the best new ideas!" Really interesting notes from it below...

Gimp Day 28: Gimp, Showgirl, Impi and the Windmill showed up this beautiful morning together with some sun, Canadian geese, swans, and a few old coots. The geese were hogging the dock and were reluctant to take the lead of other Canadians who are usually more eager to get in the water!

It really does work! Getting in every day is addictive. Overheard one day last week was someone who had got a new job but had negotiated a later start to let him get to the Pond!
Pix of Day 12 in The Gimp's folder - snow flurries on the surface, but water crisp and clear.
